Pelham's Birthplace

  • A sign on the highway points the way to Pelhams birthplace.
  • Not even a block away is the spot, although the actual house is long gone, replaced with a modern structure.
  • There is a marker at the spot, which was the home of Pelham's grandparents, William and Elizabeth McGehee.
  • The marker was placed at the site by the Forney District UDC in 1937.
  • Looking back towards the highway.
  • The restaurant at the corner is an easy-to-spot landmark. The state of Alabama sign is in the corner of the parking lot.
