Samuel Clay Pelham (1845-1870)
Not much is known about Samuel Clay Pelham. He was born in 1845, the sixth child of Atkinson and Martha Pelham. He joined Company A, 51st Alabama Cavalry, but was a sickly youth. He contracted tuberculosis and died at the age of 25 in 1870 at Kirkwood, Georgia. He is buried beside his brother John and his parents in the Jacksonville, Alabama City Cemetery.
